Bracken Bank Lodge is the perfect retreat for a fun-packed break where there is plenty to do. This break will include one hour with a clay pigeon shooting instructor. with 50 clays and cartridges. Extra clays are available at a cost - payable directly to the instructor - of £10 for 25 clays.
Accommodation is at the Bracken Bank Lodge which stands in its own 700 acre estate. This beautifully appointed grouse shooting lodge has been a well loved retreat for Royalty, the aristocracy and landed gentry for over 80 years. Dating from the 17th Century this spacious lodge is traditionally furnished with antiques, oil paintings, sporting prints and hunting trophies. The lodge lies in the heart of the Eden valley in the North Lake District, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The historic market town of Penrith is just six miles away. Bracken Bank Lodge is ideally located for a wealth of outdoor activities as well as historic and educational days out. Hadrian's wall, Carlisle castle, Keswick, a druid stone circle and Ullswater, England's most beautiful lake, are all within easy reach.
The accommodation's amenities include a gun room and a snooker room. Hearty breakfasts are cooked on the Aga. The formal Red Dining Room is hung with sporting trophies and ancestral portraits. The Lodge is centrally heated as well as having log fires. A range of wonderful bedrooms await you at Bracken Bank Lodge. There are barbeques, an ornamental pond with fountain and croquet on the south facing lawn to enjoy in the summer months.
The beautiful Estate itself boasts a variety of landscapes with lowland heath, heather, lakes, ponds and woodland all ringed with ancient dry stone walls. The wildlife is diverse and includes deer, red squirrel, badgers, water voles and great crested newts. Bird life includes buzzard, owls, woodpeckers, pheasant, partridge and woodcock. Wild orchids, rhododendrons and acres of blueberries flourish in an unspoilt landscape.

You will enjoy overnight accommodation in a four poster bed at Bracken Bank Lodge, a famous shooting lodge. You may choose which day of your break you take your hours' clay pigeon shooting instruction, either on the day of arrival or the day of departure.
