Spa and pamper break fans will benefit more from modern treatments with clear and visible benefits, according to an expert.

A spokesperson for the Mira Hotel in Hong Kong told Relaxnews that spas and medical centres are starting to work together more closely in a bid to mutually enhance each other's services.

"Increasingly often, [clients] look to their spa therapist to recommend services outside of their scope, such as medical procedures like laser skin rejuvenation or botox," they added.

The spa complex source also said that as far as products go, the trend is now going towards multi-purpose services which save more time in people's busy lifestyles.

Recently, the Hong Kong spa and pamper break complex has invested in a anti-aging machine which uses micro currents to "redefine and lift the skin contours, reducing puffiness and stimulating blood flow".

According to SpaFinder's trends for 2010, there will be more indigenous treatments being used in spa and pamper break complexes this year.
