A Morecambe hotel is set to host a murder mystery weekend which will entertain fans of amateur detective activities.

The Visitor reported that the Midland Hotel is offering guests the chance to solve a suspicious murder when it holds its Masked Murder Mystery weekend on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd January.

Lancashire's After Dark theatre company will perform on the Friday night, setting out the scene so that guests have to identify suspicious looking characters during a cocktail reception.

They will then progress into the Eric Gill Suite where they will have to find the murderer while they enjoy a three course dinner.

On the Saturday night, guests will enjoy a masked ball, with entertainment being provided by the High Society Jazz Band.

Matt Stanaway, manager of the Midland Hotel, told the source that the evenings are "a chance for aspiring Poirots to come and test their skills".

Murder mystery fans can also leave the city blues behind by indulging themselves in the Midland Spa during their stay.
