Spa and pamper break lovers looking for a budget treatment should try one of the 22 branches of Dove Spa in the capital, according to an expert.
Lucy Tobin, writing for the London Evening Standard's health and beauty section, said that these facilities cut out the fancy extras such as posh changing rooms and leave the customer with good-value treatments to help them relax.
The spa expert opted for a detox therapy, which included a vigorous full-body exfoliation followed by a mud body wrap. This is topped off by a moisturising facial and scalp massage as the mud sinks into the skin.
"The set-up isn't like a normal spa - I was asked to get changed by the side of the treatment table rather than swanning around in a bathrobe - but I was happy to overlook that when the cost was considerably less than usual," she said.
Ms Tobin also noted that these Dove facilities are all about back-to-back basics, rather than "pretentious spa ideals".
Spa and pamper break enthusiasts can also indulge themselves in holistic therapies, hair removal and nail care treatments at the Dove Spas.
