The Donmar Warehouse production of A Streetcar Named Desire has been honoured in a special awards ceremony.
It picked up the Theatre Award at the last ever South Bank Show Awards show, with the Melvyn Bragg-hosted arts show recently broadcasting its final show on ITV.
The recognition comes shortly after the Donmar won three prizes at the Critics' Circle Awards, where Rachel Weisz, who played Blanche DuBois in the production, was named as Best Actress.
Michael Grandage, Donmar artistic director, said that last year was undoubtedly one of the most important years in the history of the theatre.
"I am delighted Hamlet, A Streetcar Named Desire and Red have all been recognised in four separate awards today. These productions represent our commitment to deliver work of the highest quality and to engage with as many people as possible. It is wonderful to have our work honoured in this way," he added.
Fans of the best in theatre breaks can currently see Red at the Donmar Warehouse, which has been described by the Independent as "thrilling to watch".
